  • Regift means give something (which is given to you as a gift) to another person as a gift.
  • If something is tempting, or tempts you, it makes you feel that you want to do it.
  • If something is cost-effective, it is good value for the money spent on it.
  • If something is potentially embarrassing, it can make you feel uncomfortable (because you have done something bad or impolite).
  • Repurposing means using something for a new or different purpose.
  • A mine is a weapon. If you step on a mine, it will explode like a bomb. A minefield is an area full of mines. A manners minefield, is a dangerous situation in which (if you are not careful) you may do something which is bad manners (rude, impolite) and may hurt other people.
  • A tip is a piece of practical advice.
  • Scot-free means without something bad happening to you, without being punished.
