- A scam is an illegal plan for cheating people and making money.
- Cyber threats are dangerous things on the Internet that can cause problems for you.
- to transfer to a digital realm: to enter the digital world, to become digital
- our vulnerabilities will also make the shift: our weaknesses also change, we will have new weaknesses because of our digital way of life
- emerging: starting to exist, starting to appear
- The URL is the Internet address of a webpage usually starting with http://www… URL shorteners allow a long address (which is difficult to remember and type) to be replaced with a short one. But because you cannot see the real address, this will make it difficult for you to be sure that you are visiting a safe and trustworthy website.
- Geolocation services are services like GPS that make it possible to find your present location (= where you are at the moment). This can be used by criminals, for example, to burgle your home (= steal things from your home) while you are away, because they can geolocate you (= use your mobile phone etc to know your present location).
